About the Role
Role: Middle Next.js Full‑Stack Engineer
Summary
We’re looking for a Middle Next.js Full‑Stack Engineer to build and maintain modern web applications that are fast, accessible, and reliable. In this role you’ll work across the stack—shipping customer-facing features in Next.js/React, designing and integrating APIs, and contributing to a clean, scalable codebase. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering peers in an environment that values clarity, ownership, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
• Build, test, and ship features using Next.js and React, balancing performance, usability, and maintainability.
• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs (REST and/or GraphQL), including data modeling and integrations with third‑party services.
• Implement server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG/ISR), and caching strategies to optimize speed and SEO where relevant.
• Write clean, well-structured code with meaningful tests; participate in code reviews and collaborate on engineering standards.
• Work with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) to design schemas, write efficient queries, and ensure data integrity.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, improve observability, and reduce recurring incidents through root-cause fixes.
• Collaborate with designers and product partners to refine requirements, estimate work, and deliver iteratively.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows; help improve developer experience and release confidence.
• Document technical decisions and key workflows so the team can move faster and onboard smoothly.
Must‑Have Qualifications
• 2–4+ years of professional software development experience, including full‑stack web development.
• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern React, including state management and component patterns.
• Practical experience with Next.js (routing, data fetching, SSR/SSG/ISR, API routes, middleware as applicable).
• Experience building and integrating APIs (REST and/or GraphQL), including authentication and authorization concepts.
• Experience with at least one backend runtime and framework (commonly Node.js) and server-side debugging.
• Solid understanding of web fundamentals (HTTP, browser behavior, security basics, performance).
• Working knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL and/or MongoDB) and ORM/query tooling.
• Comfortable with Git, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to communicate clearly in a distributed team environment and take ownership of deliverables end to end.
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker).
• Familiarity with monorepos and tooling (Nx, Turborepo, pnpm workspaces).
• Experience with Next.js performance tuning (bundle analysis, caching layers, edge rendering).
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and front-end testing practices (Playwright/Cypress).
• Experience with observability tools (Sentry, Datadog, OpenTelemetry) and production monitoring.
• Exposure to design systems and component libraries, or building reusable UI foundations.
Tools & Tech (Typical)
Next.js, React, TypeScript, Node.js, REST/GraphQL, PostgreSQL (or similar), Redis (optional), Docker (optional), GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks (Jest/Testing Library).
Benefits & Perks
• Competitive compensation and performance review process
• Flexible working hours and remote-friendly collaboration (where applicable)
• Learning budget for courses, books, and conferences
• High-trust environment with ownership and autonomy
• Modern equipment and tooling to support focused work
